I’ve always wanted to fly.
Not just physically – although that sounds absolutely fantastic – mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.
Wings have always represented the freedom that flight symbolized for me – a freedom that allows me to rise above my circumstances and my struggles. To rise above the things that I currently know, and continue to learn more and more, about the people and cultures of this world. To see the world from a new, fresh, and more learned perspective.
For me, those wings can only be created by plunging myself into the so-called “real world” and meeting, experiencing, seeing, hearing, and learning from people different from me. That means, as an American student, that I must journey across the sea.
As such, I started this travel blog, which will share not only my experiences but my reflections on those experiences, in order to give myself greater opportunities to spread my wings, as I travel from sea to sea.
