Compared to the abundance of tourist attractions of Los Angeles, New Jersey felt… quiet. As it is close to NYC, it is definitely a state that does not receive that much attention – at least from what I’ve seen. But as a new resident of the Garden State, I have seen and begun to appreciate the natural beauty of this state.
This blog will be an ongoing one, as I hope to see much more than I’ve seen so far! But to begin ~
Hoboken Park – September 4, 2021
It was too sunny a Saturday to let go to waste. So in an impulsive decision, my mom and I ventured to Hoboken – to a lovely park with an amazing view of the NYC skyline. While parking was a bit of a nightmare, the mini-adventure I enjoyed with my mom was well worth the effort ~ Lots of photos, lots of chatting, and a much-needed breath of fresh air. The brisk air was invigorating and one of my favorite memories in New Jersey <3
Stateline Park – November 25, 2021
Back when I was in San Diego, my mom had sent me gorgeous pictures of this park in the height of autumn – with the beautiful foliage. I’d mentioned that I would like to go, as a family, since returning from university ~ a request that was finally fulfilled on Thanksgiving. While the foliage was basically nonexistent, the view was serene – with the brisk air overlooking the Hudson River. As the name implies, the park is on the border between New Jersey and New York, and provides a hiking trail from the parking lot to the highway entrance where you can take the classic “Welcome to New York” photo!
As this park is located extremely close to our house, I’m excited to come back – next time, at the height of fall!
